In my spare time, I really enjoy being outside and participating in many activities, especially snowmobiling in the winter. I like to go hiking and camping with my family and friends as well. I also enjoy volunteering my time and participating in various things in the community. I am an active member of the Slate Belt Mighty Mopars car club and can be found helping at many of their events.
Area of focus: I work with Pre-K children with a more specific focus on the Transitional Three’s classroom. I also assist with other classrooms as needed and have experience with almost all of the various age groups at Bangor Childcare.
Favorite activity at work? Teaching children new things and watching them as they learn or understand a new concept for the first time.
Why are you in child care? I have grown up being around younger children and could have always been found teaching them in some way. I would volunteer my time with outdoor related activities and found myself taking on a teaching role to teach young children about the great outdoors. As I got older, this grew into helping children with homework and other school related projects. I realized then that teaching is what I was supposed to do, I could easily break things down into concepts for children to understand and I realized that this was something that I should be doing for the rest of my life. I went to college and further realized that I was meant to be a teacher and make a difference in children’s lives. I now go in to work accepting each day as a blank slate and having a positive attitude that each day is an opportunity for me to have an impact on next generation.
What is your favorite activity after work? Spending time with friends and family and relaxing in the great outdoors.
